On Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend 2005, I nearly died. I am incredibly lucky to have survived and recovered to my current state. I have done so based on the unending love and support I have received from family & friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My parents and sister are the greatest in the world. Mom and Dad have played every role during my ordeal- caretaker, chaperone, disciplinarian, friend… My sister is cool and hell and is now a best friend to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins is tremendous. Not only were you there for me but also for my parents and sis during the hell that I put them through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I truly appreciate and am, frankly, surprised by the actions of my friends. \u00a0At no point have I ever felt that I’m missing out or being excluded and left behind. \u00a0Y’all have no idea what that means to me. \u00a0Our friendships were forged during CYO hoops, shore house or fraternity ridiculousness, etc. \u00a0I am no longer able to participate in many of those activities fully. \u00a0However, I now realize that our bond is lifelong, no matter what.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, on this day, as I reflect on how my life has changed since the early morning hours of Sunday, May 30, 2005, please know that I am eternally grateful for whatever role you have played in my awesome life.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
