The East Coast Mentality
The East Coast mentality, which places work first and life second, is completely jacked. The blizzard that wasn’t is the backdrop.
Schools, courts, and offices were closed on Tuesday, January 15, for fear of a major snow event. The storm didn’t pack the punch that was predicted. Facebook and Twitter timelines are inundated with sarcastic comments about the bunk forecast and complaints about closings for no good reason.
The posts are a reflection of the Northeast’s obsession with work. The work longer and more often attitude is a disease in this region.
Here’s a thought: fucking enjoy the day off. Don’t go to work. Don’t think about work. The mental vacation will be excellent.
