The ebb of democracy

#NotMyPresident had quite a week. I am still taken aback by the dude’s outright lies, though, at this point, I should not at all be surprised. We live in a time where truth does not matter. Rather, the loudest, most obnoxiously unapologetic narcissists carry the daily news cycle. Yes, Justice Kavanaugh, your 15 minutes are up for now. But, don’t worry, I do not doubt that you will again be in the spotlight when you serve as the High Court’s crucial vote, which further strips minorities of some protection.

Page one of today’s Wall Street Journal detailed President Trump’s first-hand knowledge of, and hands-on approach to, the payment of money to silence Ms. Karen McDougal and Stormy, errrrrrrrr, Ms. Stephanie Clifford. Melania Trump personifies reverse feminism.

Remember when Trump, then Hope Hicks, then Sarah Huckabee Sanders claimed Donny did not know about the paymentS. Ms. Hicks bailed on the Administration before the shit hit the fan. I can only hope that Ms. Sanders, along with the entirety of the White House, crashes into the proverbial mountain upon the filing of Mr. Mueller’s Report.

Today, my man Trump claimed he “does not know” the newly appointed interim Attorney General. Almost one year ago to the day, POTUS remarked that he knows Matthews [I think is his name] and that he is a great man.

In other news… the vast majority of news outlets claim that the WH Press Secretary utilized a video, which was edited by the site Infowars, to lend credence to the President’s decision to yank a reporter’s press credentials. The President of the United States uses rigged footage from an alt-right conspiracy theory website to justify his attempt to fray the edges of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. I’m not sure if D.T. stole this page from the playbook of Kim Jong-un or Vladdy Putin.

Democracy took a small step backward this week.
