5.16.2021: It’s been a while.
I have not posted in months. I could make excuses, e.g., pandemic, work, blah, blah, but excuses are like . . . . It’s good to be back!
Seasonal allergies kicked my ass this week. I have had a dull-to-moderate headache for about 72 hours. I’ve run through scads of tissues and sneezed more in the past 7 days than I have in the past 27 months. Note: I rarely sneeze. Since my brain injury, I have been virtually unable to sneeze. I’ll feel one coming on. You know the sensations–itchy nose, watery eyes, etc. But for me, a sneeze does not follow. It is the worst.
At the beginning of the week, I exclusively took Xyzal. The medicine offered no relief to my assault by histamines. Yesterday, I bought Flonase and, fingers crossed, feel like the nasal spray is dulling the evil pollen’s impact.
Do you have any weird quirks or habits, like me? I’ll admit to two: Every single time I put on a sock, I first pull on the right one. The same goes for my right shoes. It is always right before left. This next one might be weirder. When my meal includes a portion of meat, veggies (I don’t often eat vegetables), and a sidedish, i.e., pasta, rice, I eat the entire serving of meat. Then, if there are vegetables, I will get after them next. Finally, I finish the meal by polishing off the pasta or rice. I’m cool with my weirdness, though.
