Two weeks ago, I submitted my resignation to the Honorable Roxanne Covington, for whom I have worked as a law clerk since October 2019. I decided to bail on the position to focus on the legal ghostwriting and research services of Sullivan | Simon, LLC. And I crave an autonomous work situation.

My final day at the First Judicial District is two days away, and the tidal wave of fear has crested and crashed on my cranium. What will I do about health insurance? Will my savings last? Will my firm generate sufficient revenue so I can afford to eat anything besides generic cereal and Ramen?

I am nervous about the many unknowns of the future, but I must take a leap of faith. If I don’t, the revenants of regret will torment me.
