Mom euthanized my parents’ cat yesterday. This not unexpected loss of a pet life compelled me to consider the topic of impermanence.

An ugly reality is that everyone will die. My cat, parents, friends, etc., will not live forever. And my days on Earth are numbered, too. While I choose not to dwell on our demise, it is not morbid to remind myself daily that each new day brings us closer to the End. I will increase the odds I’ll not waste a day of this precious life by remembering one constant of this life is impermanence.
