I too often allow myself to forget that life is excellent.

While Faith and I watched The Bachelorette last night, the episode showed a contestant shirtless. I remarked, “That dude is jacked.” I say something or think something similar when I see a muscular dude in the gym or on the street. I note it because I want to look that way.

When I compare myself to another, I rarely question, “Is he 44 years old?” And I never think, “Would they trade their physique for my life circumstances?”

Practicing gratitude and perspective, not mindless desire and envy, cultivates my happiness. I then smile as I remember that I am enough.
