I read that ecological philosopher Edward Abbey said, “Growth for the sake of growth is the ideology of the cancer cell.”

Applying this quote to my life has compelled me to reflect.

I train in the gym five days per week to gain muscle mass. Why? What am I chasing?

Like a cancer cell, am I growing merely for growth’s sake?
