Indistractible, I am not (yet).
I have a habit of allowing myself to be distracted while performing a task.
After pouring a cup of coffee this morning, I noticed the toaster was on the countertop. My amazing girlfriend made some raisin bread before heading off to work.
I put the coaster away and returned to the coffee cup. But I saw a spoon in it and could not remember if I had added sugar to the black gold. So, I poured two scoops, dumped in my oat creamer, tasted the java, and probably gave myself a cavity from the amount of sweetener in the hot beverage.
Lesson: I will master my attention, not mindlessly react to whatever task or notification pulls at my proverbial shirttails. Instead, I’ll note the distraction and complete the task I began.
